By now you may know that the state has again mandated that our county move into the “purple” tier, which is the most restrictive one of the four. We, along with 40 other counties, are in this tier and it means that we can not worship inside. So, here is the plan going forward:
1) Sunday Lifegroup will be on zoom from 8:30-9:30
. This link can be found here
and the timing is designed to allow folks to participate and have enough time to drive to church for worship.
2) Sunday Worship will be at the same time of 10:30 am and will be located outside on the lawn as we did for several months.
It will be a bit cool as the “high” is only expected to be about 74 on Sunday, so a sweater or jacket, maybe a blanket would be advisable. For this Sunday, you might also consider bringing your own chair and an umbrella (think of the beach!) and possibly a hat. Tents will be up and chairs will be set up also, but it would be helpful to reduce the burden on the set up team if you are able to help this way. We will also continue to broadcast live by livestream (the link is here
). If it becomes too cold or rainy we likely cancel the outdoor service and broadcast via livestream. Should this become necessary we will let you know through email and a posting on our website.
Finally, we know this is a frustrating and challenging time, so we want you to know that you are constantly in our prayers. We would also greatly appreciate your prayers as we continue to try to navigate these difficult times in a way that honors the Lord. Let’s pray together for the Lord’s will for “such a time as this.”
For the elders,
Join us on Sunday mornings in person 10:30 am
In our Chapel, we have room for about 40 people
In our Fellowship Room we have space for about 40 people with a video feed
You may feel comfortable in our Nursery with your children and a live video feed
On our Lawn we have chairs under the tent with a live video feed - no mask is required outside if you are socially distanced.
We are continuing to meet on the lawn at 10:30 - setup help needed from 9:30 - 10:15. We are thankful for the enthusiasm of many of you in going forward with our corporate worship and the encouragement it brings to you. We also Live Stream the service in the Fellowship room with climate control and in our nursery if you worship with your children. Please pray for our leadership as they consider bringing the service indoors under the new restrictions California has allowed for the county of Santa Barbara. Last Sunday we had over 70 people at our service and those numbers push our allowable amount indoors.
Meeting again at 10:30 am
Please join us on Sunday mornings
As the concerns of the pandemic increase, we will be taking our Sunday Morning Worship service outdoors. With the help of a multitude of volunteers, we will provide shade and plently of open air as we worship God through singing, scripture and the preaching of the word. Please use sunscreen for your safety. We will continue to practice social distancing, wearing masks, taking temperatures, and washing hands. Please help us do all that we can to ensure a safe environment for everyone. Thank you for praying for us, we know that this is a difficult time. Please know that we constantly pray for you all at Grace Bible Church.
For Christ and His Church,
The elders of Grace Bible Church
